Meet the Team: Mike, Sue, Peter

With a successful background in financial services and consulting and a keen understanding of local markets, Mike Murphy started in real estate as an investor himself. After substandard experiences with other agents, he saw an opportunity to bring his own financial-world skills to a new career. A strong communicator and seasoned negotiator with a keen business sense, Mike affords those who work with him a unique and informed market perspective; he is a calming force with the ability to understand his clients' goals and help achieve them. Most of all, he is passionate about raising the industry's level of integrity, improving its professionalism, and making its marketing strategies more sophisticated.

A first-generation Irish American and a New York native, Mike received his BS in Finance and Economics from the University of Albany. He loves the Bay Area's quality of life and perfect climate, and he and his wife are (like many of his clients) raising a family here. Mike is an avid runner, bicyclist, and rock climber.

Sue Schultes' clients know her as passionate, resourceful, and calmly determined, yet what she finds most fulfilling about her job as a real estate agent is her passion for connecting – buyers with sellers, of course, but also connecting with clients on a personal level as well as with the members of her team. To the group, Sue brings an aptitude for negotiation and communication honed at an early age.

Originally from New Jersey, Sue has lived in San Francisco for more than a decade, calling the city her "real home." She received her BS in Economics from Villanova University and MBA from Fordham University. With a background in sales, teaching, and communication skills training, her career has included stretches at HBO, Turner Broadcasting, QBInternational, and San Francisco State University – all of them preparing her for a successful career in real estate.

In her spare time, Sue is an avid reader, and serves on the board for Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly. She is also active with St. Agnes Parish and the Catholic Business Professionals Club, and a member of Leadership San Francisco's Class of 2009. She lives near Golden Gate Park with her husband and yellow lab, Lucy.

Fifteen years' experience running a successful retail business prepared Peter Colbert for the nuances of good service and accurately forecasting trends in the marketplace. It also awakened his love and passion for real estate: since becoming licensed, Peter has negotiated a wide range of deals, from vineyard estates to restored bungalows and coastal bluffs. Whoever his clients, Peter prides himself at offering each of them the same professional guidance and expertise.

Raised in Lafayette when the East Bay was better known for acres of almond groves than housing developments, Peter received his MA in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. For 25 years he has lived in Wine Country, where he volunteers for numerous school organizations and the Redwood Empire Food Bank and Community Foundation of Sonoma County.

Peter and his wife and three children live between Sebastopol and Santa Rosa; when he's not working, he can often be found on the golf course, ski slope, or cheering on his kids from the sidelines of their own ball games.
